Dr. Abhi Subedi joined NINDS in April 2021 and serves as a Scientific Review Officer (SRO) for a variety of Special Emphasis Panels that include HEAL Initiative Co-operative Agreement (U19) and Institutional training grant (T32). Dr. Subedi received her Ph. D. in Cellular, Molecular, Developmental Biology, and Biophysics program from Johns Hopkins University, where she characterized the Habenulo-interpeduncular neural pathway in the zebrafish model. As a post-doctoral fellow at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), she generated a comprehensive connectome of the dorsal raphe neurons in the zebrafish brain. Dr. Subedi received a competitive three-year post-doctoral fellowship program at the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) Postdoctoral Research Associate (PRAT) Program. During the final year of her fellowship, she joined the Extramural Review Branch (ERB) at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) as an SRO (detailee). Before joining NINDS, she was SRO (contractor) in ERB, NIMH. She has experience on a variety of Special Emphasis Panels, including Loan Repayment Program (LRP), co-operative agreement (U19), BRAIN initiative fellowship (F32), institutional training grant (T32), and Instrumentation program (S10). Her scientific expertise is in the areas of circuit and connectomics, molecular neuroscience (bioinformatics, transcriptomics, transgenesis/mutagenesis, cell types), developmental biology, immunology, molecular pathogenesis (HIV, bacteria), and vaccine development.
