Ms. Monica Flemming currently supports the Associate Director of the Division of Neuroscience, Dr. Lyn Jakeman.
Ms. Flemming has been with NINDS since 2001 and possess many talents from the administrative field. She began her career here at NIH in the Scientific Review Branch (SRB) as an Extramural Support Assistant. After transitioning from the SRB, Ms. Flemming began assisting with meetings, workshops, and conferences planning and earned her Contracting Officer Representative (COR), Level II certificate in 2016. As a COR, she has developed Statements of Work for soliciting Contractors for meeting planning services, chaired Technical Evaluation Panels, negotiated hotel space, requested special approvals for meetings, and managed the budget used for each meeting.
Ms. Flemming has also served as a purchasing agent for a short time before accepting her role as the Executive Assistant to the Director.
Expertise: COR II- Workshop/conference/meeting planning, preparing statements of work, preparing IGCEs, negotiating hotel contracts, travel support, and procurement.
