Dr. Mark Stevens is the NINDS Deputy Executive Officer. In this capacity, he assists the NINDS Executive Officer in overseeing the institute's financial and management functions, including administrative services, workforce development, and administrative policy. Dr. Stevens started at NINDS in 2023.
Prior to joining NINDS, Dr. Stevens worked at the NIH Office of the Director (OD), Office of Management (OM) where he served for 8 years as the Lead Management and Program Analyst overseeing administrative operations, risk management, and budget coordination activities. Dr. Stevens began his Federal career in 2009 when he was selected for the competitive Administrative Fellows Program, leading to a Budget Analyst position within the National Eye Institute (NEI). Mark then served as a Lead Administrative Officer at the National Center for Advancing Translational Science (NCATS) and National Cancer Institute (NCI). Dr. Stevens earned his BA in Political Science & Economics from Washington College (Chestertown, MD), his MPA from the University of Delaware, and his Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) from the University of Baltimore.
