Dr. Ling Wong is the Acting Deputy Associate Director and Chief of Staff for the Division of Neuroscience (DON) at NINDS. In this role, she supervises both scientific and administrative staff, identifies bottlenecks, and develops strategic solutions to optimize workload distribution and streamline workflows. Dr. Wong is known for her collaborative approach, coordinating across teams to enhance efficiency, as well as leading efforts in staff recruitment, onboarding, retention, and performance management. Her leadership has been pivotal in enhancing organizational effectiveness and fostering a more engaged and connected workforce. Additionally, as the NINDS Genomic Program Administrator, Dr. Wong serves as the primary point of contact for genomic data sharing and oversees compliance with related policies.

Dr. Wong began her career at NINDS in 2015 as an AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow in the Office of Science Policy and Planning. She later served as a Health Program Specialist in the Neurogenetics Cluster of DON, where she coordinated pre- and post-Council processes, planned scientific workshops, conducted portfolio analyses, engaged with internal and external partners, and contributed to the development of new initiatives.

A neuroscientist by training, Dr. Wong completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of California, Davis, and a B.S. in Human Biology—Brain & Behavior from Brown University.
