Dr Jill Harper currently serves as the acting NINDS Deputy Director for Scientific Management and Operations and Acting Executive Officer. Where she will work closely with Dr. Amy Bany Adams and the NINDS administrative team to priorities the institute advancing neuroscience discovery and bringing hope and treatments to people with neurological disorders and stroke.
Prior to joining the NINDS, Dr. Harper was the Deputy Director for Science Management at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) as well as the Director of the NIAID Office of Biodefense Research and Surety, where she led the NIH chemical countermeasures research program.
Dr. Harper earned a B.S. in biology from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia, and an M.A. and a Ph.D. in molecular biology from Princeton University.
