Elio Peraza is the ALS Program Coordinator of the NINDS Office of Science Policy and Planning. In this role, he collaborates with NINDS policy and program staff to prepare reports for NINDS, NIH, the Department of Health and Human Services, and Congress. He supports in planning, coordination and evaluation of research programs to internal/external stakeholders and provides logistical support for interactions with external stakeholders. Additionally, he is responsible for analyzing administrative factors affecting research program priorities and performance. Elio assists in the facilitation of team meetings, drafting agendas and minutes, and following up on action item implementation.

Prior to NINDS, Elio worked at CentroNia, a nonprofit CBO, as a Health Services Manager. In this capacity, he was responsible for developing and implementing the organization's population health programs and community health initiatives, grants management, and community engagement. He began his career originally working in the clinical field, both in private practice and hospital settings. Elio is originally from Venezuela and has lived in the DC area for almost 30 years, where he obtained his B.S. in Public Health and an M.S. in Healthcare Admin. and Mgmt., both from the University of Maryland.
