Dr. Alynda Wood is an AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow in the Office of the NINDS Director. Her PhD is from Emory University where she studied the role of the basal ganglia and midbrain dopamine system on motor control and motor learning. Prior to her PhD, she studied olfactory system development and plasticity as a Postbaccalaureate IRTA in the NINDS intramural research program. Lyndie has been active in scientific outreach and education, including serving as a Student Representative and Brain Awareness Co-Coordinator for the Atlanta Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience, and a volunteer docent at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History Genome Exhibit. In her current role as an AAAS Fellow, she seeks to support the scientific enterprise by providing scientific operations and policy support to the NINDS Office of the Director.
