Oreisa O’Neil-Mathurin joined the NINDS Division of Extramural Research in 2016 as a Health Program Specialist supporting the Blueprint Neurotherapeutics Network in the Division of Translational Research (DTR). After obtaining a Masters in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology and Health Disparities, she worked as a Clinical Research project manager overseeing the execution and planning of new and ongoing NIH multi-site funded R01 grants and clinical trials in the department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Howard University Hospital. While at Howard University she was offered the position and opportunity to come on board at the National institute of health as a program analyst at National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) followed by a position at National Institute of Aging (NIA). While at NIA, in the Division of Neuroscience she worked in the Behavioral and System Neuroscience Branch, which research emphasized the neural and psychological mechanisms underlying age-related changes in cognition, emotions, sensory, and motor function, from the level of gene to the whole organism, as well as epidemiological studies of populations. She received her MPH at Howard University school of Medicine.
