Dr. Neel Dhruv joined the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) in 2021 as the Health Program Specialist supporting the NIH Countermeasures Against Chemical Threats (CounterACT) program. Prior to joining NINDS, Dr. Dhruv was a manuscript editor at Nature Neuroscience, with primary responsibility to handle papers focusing on systems, cognitive, and computational neuroscience.

Dr. Dhruv received his Ph.D. in Neural Science from New York University, researching the contributions of the parallel pathways of visual processing in early visual cortex of non-human primates in the lab of Dr. Peter Lennie. Following receipt of his degree, Dr. Dhruv did a postdoctoral fellowship in Dr. Matteo Carandini's lab at University College London.
