The purpose of this Notice is to inform potential applicants that the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) will participate in PAR-19-343, "Maximizing Opportunities for Scientific and Academic Independent Careers (MOSAIC) Postdoctoral Career Transition Award to Promote Diversity (K99/R00 - Independent Clinical Trial Not Allowed)." The first available "Application Due Date" is June 12, 2020. NINDS participation in the MOSAIC will replace the NINDS Advanced Postdoctoral Career Transition Award to Promote Diversity in Neuroscience Research (K22), the K22 program will expire on May 8, 2021.

The purpose of this notice is to inform potential applicants of a change to the Budget Justification for RFA-NS-21-010 "HEAL Initiative: Non-addictive Analgesic Therapeutics Development [Small Molecules and Biologics] to Treat Pain (UG3/UH3 Clinical Trial Optional)".

The purpose of this Notice is to announce that the NIH is collaborating with the National Science Foundation (NSF) on an interagency funding opportunity, Smart Health and Biomedical Research in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Data Science. The initiative supports innovative, high-risk/high-reward research with the promise of disruptive transformations in biomedical research. Therapeutic agents include small molecules, biologics or biotechnology-derived products. This FOA is part of a suite of Innovation Grants to Nurture Initial Translational Efforts (IGNITE) to advance projects to the point where they can meet the entry criteria for the Blueprint Neurotherapeutics Network (BPN) or other translational programs.

(Reissue of PAR-18-763) This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) encourages the development and validation of animal models and human/animal tissue ex vivo systems that recapitulate the phenotypic and physiologic characteristics of a defined neurological or neuromuscular disorder. The goal of this FOA is to promote a significant improvement in the translational relevance of animal models or ex vivo systems that will be utilized to facilitate the development of neurotherapeutics. Ideally, models proposed for this FOA would have the potential to provide feasible and meaningful assessments of efficacy following therapeutic intervention that would be applicable in both preclinical and clinical settings. This FOA is part of a suite of Innovation Grants to Nurture Initial Translational Efforts (IGNITE) Program focused on enabling the exploratory and early stages of drug discovery.

The purpose of this notice is to inform potential applications of a change to the Specific Areas of Research Interest for PAR-20-168 "Research on Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) (R21 Clinical Trials Not Allowed)". The Specific Areas of Research Interest have been modified to remove the IC-specific language for the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH). This information was erroneously published in the FOA. NCCIH remains signed onto the companion FOA, PAR-20-165 "Research on Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) (R01 Clinical Trials Not Allowed)".

The purpose of this notice is to inform applicants of a correction to the Earliest Start Date for PAR-20-240 "NIH Neuroscience Development for Advancing the Careers of a Diverse Research Workforce (R25 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)". The Earliest Start Dates have been corrected to read: November 2021, November 2022 and November 2023.
