This meeting brings together experts in the field of Parkinson’s Disease (PD) biomarkers research, information technology and neuroscience, funded under the Parkinson’s Disease Biomarkers Program (PDBP) which was officially launched on November 2012.

The PDBP facilitates biomarker discovery and validation efforts, leveraging broadly shared clinical and biospecimen data, with the overarching goal of improving clinical trial design and therapeutic development in PD, Lewy Body Dementia (LBD), and Parkinsonisms.

Investigators will present their recent findings and discuss any challenges related to patient recruitment, biospecimen collection, data management, etc. that they may have encountered since the last Consortium Meeting in August 2018.

The 2019 Meeting is planned for August 12-13, 2019 in Rockville, Maryland.

Goals for the 2019 meeting include:

  • Consideration of the accomplishments of and next steps for the NINDS PDBP program,
  • Introduction of the new studies in genetically defined cohorts
  • Parkinsonisms and cutting edge-technologies, advances in structural biology and PET ligand development for synucleinopathies
  • Discussion of clinical trials and related opportunities for biomarkers research, as well as an overview of AMP-PD and an introduction to the AMP PD Knowledge Portal
