NIH Countermeasures Against Chemical Threats (CounterACT) Program Basic Research on Chemical Threats (R01) Q&A Webinar

March 08, 2023 | 2:00 - 3:00 PM

The Countermeasures Against Chemical Threats (CounterACT) Program is a trans-NIH initiative that supports research and development of new and improved therapeutics against chemical threat agents. The CounterACT Program is pleased to host a webinar in which they will discuss a special notice of funding opportunity focused on basic research. Attendees are encouraged to attend to learn more about research supported by the NIH CounterACT program.

PAR-23-027 CCRP Initiative: Countermeasures Against Chemical Threats (CounterACT) Basic Research on Chemical Threats that Affect the Nervous System (R01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)
This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) invites applications for basic research projects on chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals, and pesticides that have primary or secondary effects on the nervous system. Chemical threats are toxic compounds that could be used in a terrorist attack or accidentally released from industrial production, storage, or shipping. Projects supported by this NOFO are expected to generate data that elucidate mechanisms of toxicity of these agents, possible new manifestations of toxic exposures, and potential new targets for therapeutic development.
