Imaging the Future of In vivo Neuropathological Diagnosis through Postmortem Analyses Workshop

July 13, 2022 | 1:00 - July 14, 2022 | 5:00

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) held a workshop entitled “Imaging the Future of In vivo Neuropathological Diagnosis through Postmortem Analyses”. The workshop assembled a group of researchers who were either directly involved in or perform research relevant to postmortem neuropathology research in order to identify gaps and needs in the field with the goal of improving in-vivo diagnosis, primarily as it relates to traumatic brain injury and vascular contributions to cognitive impairment and dementia. Current topics included bench work / high-throughput neuropathology; in vivo and postmortem image acquisition and processing; and data analytics. The meeting took place virtually over two days and consisted of three primary groups of discussants, as well as others who are involved in or have an interest in the field.
