NINDS conducts and supports clinical research studies so healthcare providers and researchers can learn more about the brain, nervous system, and neurological disorders, and perhaps find new and better ways to safely detect, treat, or prevent disease.

All types of participants are needed for clinical trials—those who are healthy or may have a condition—of all different ages, sexes, races, ethnicities, and abilities so that study results apply to as many people as possible and treatments will be safe and effective for everyone.
