NINDS Neuroimmunology Clinic

The NINDS Neuroimmunology Clinic oversees clinical research for a variety of neuroimmune and neuroinfectious diseases, with a particular focus on multiple sclerosis, progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy, and tropical spastic paraparesis, and specializes in early-phase clinical trials and natural history studies.

Qualifications


Applicants must:

  • Hold an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
  • Be a neurologists with fellowship training or equivalent experience in neuroimmunology, multiple sclerosis, and/or neuroinfectious disease.
  • Be a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Have experience with the differential diagnosis and management of such disorders is critical. The ideal candidate will also have training and experience in clinical research.
  • The ideal candidate will also have training and experience in clinical research.
  • They must further meet all requirements to be credentialed at the NIH Clinical Center.

The Neuroimmunology Clinic seeks a Staff Clinician who will assist in oversight of the research protocols, participate in patient management, teach clinical fellows and other trainees, and closely interact with other programs in NINDS and other NIH Institutes. Within the Neuroimmunology Clinic, the Staff Clinician will direct a team composed of nurses, fellows, and other trainees. Some effort will be protected for research and teaching. This position represents a unique and exciting opportunity for a neurologist looking to expand and deepen their expertise in these areas, in part through collaboration at the NIH Clinical Center.
