NINDS is mourning the loss of Dr. Ann-Marie Broome, a program director in the Division of Translational Research. During her time at NINDS, Ann-Marie played a key role in creating two large and innovative initiatives: the Blueprint Biologics Program and the URGenT Network.

Ann-Marie earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western University. Prior to joining NINDS, Ann-Marie served as a faculty member at Case Western University and then at the Medical University of South Carolina. In those roles, Ann-Marie mentored more than 70 students, residents, and fellows of diverse academic levels, interests, and backgrounds. In addition, Ann-Marie co-founded and ran a company that created nanotechnological solutions for drug delivery challenges.

Ann-Marie’s creativity, passion, humor, and dedication will be sorely missed by all who worked with her. Our condolences go out to her family and friends during this difficult time.
