Music and the Mind Event
On Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3, 2017, the NIH and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, in association with the National Endowment for the Arts, host Music and the Mind, the first public initiative for their Sound Health partnership, exploring the connections between music, health/wellness, and science.

A day-long series of presentations and discussions with music therapists and neuroscientists that explore how listening, performing, or creating music affects brain development through all stages of life. The sessions will also cover how these activities can be used in pain management for the treatment of Alzheimer’s, autism, and other neurological disorders.
