The Neuroscience and HEAL Pain Biomarker Programs are dedicated to advancing biomarkers for neurological disease and pain conditions.   The programs are focused on supporting research to promote biomarkers that will improve the quality and efficiency of Phase II clinical trials and clinical practice.  The Neuroscience program provides support to investigators seeking to promote the analytical and clinical validation of existing candidate biomarkers in a manner that is consistent with FDA guidelines. The HEAL Pain Biomarker Program provides support for biomarker and endpoint discovery, along with analytical and clinical validation.

An interactive Q&A webinar will be held for interested applicants on January 16 at 2 PM EST  All investigators who are interested in learning about the NINDS and HEAL Pain Biomarker funding opportunities are encouraged to participate. Investigators can find information about these funding opportunities at:

PAR-18-548: Clinical Validation of a Candidate Biomarker for Neurological Disease (U44 Clinical Trial Optional)

PAR-18-549: Analytical Validation of a Candidate Biomarker for Neurological Disease (U44 Clinical Trial Optional)

PAR-18-550: Analytical Validation of a Candidate Biomarker for Neurological Disease (U01) (Clinical Trial Optional)

PAR-18-664: Clinical Validation of a Candidate Biomarker for Neurological Disease (U01 Clinical Trial Optional)

RFA-NS-18-046: Analytical and/or Clinical Validation of a Candidate Biomarker for Pain (R61/R33 Clinical Trial Optional)

RFA-NS-18-041: Discovery of Biomarkers, Biomarker Signatures, and Endpoints for Pain (R61/R33 Clinical Trial Optional)
