Additional Information

SCORE grants foster the development of faculty at minority serving institutions (MSIs) in order to increase their research competitiveness and promote their transition to non-SCORE external sources of funding.

The Pilot Project Award (SC2) is for those who are at the beginning stages of a research career, applying for their first independent award, and who are interested in testing a new idea, or generating preliminary data.

Note: Institutional eligibility is specific to under-resourced institutions with limited NIH R01 funding that have explicitly stated historical missions or historical track records focused on training and graduating students from groups nationally underrepresented in biomedical research with B.S./B.A., M.A., M.S. or Ph.D. degrees in biomedically-related sciences.
