Ryan Insolera is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Molecular, Cellular, and Development Biology Department at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. His research in the lab of Dr. Catherine Collins will study a newly discovered way in which neurons break down their damaged mitochondria through outsourcing this breakdown process to their cellular neighbors known as glial cells. He received his Ph.D. in neuroscience from Will Cornell Graduate School of Medical Science and earned his B.S. in neuroscience from the University of Michigan.
