Steven M. Finkbeiner, Ph.D.

Dr. Finkbeiner studies molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration in Huntington's disease (HD). His high-profile research has helped lead to a paradigm shift in the field of protein mis-folding in HD, as well as to technological advances in microscopy, image analysis, and human HD induced pluripotent stem cell characterizations. Here, using whole-genome sequencing on multiple HD families and robotic single-cell imaging, Dr. Finkbeiner will investigate novel genetic modifiers of HD, to shed further light on disease mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic approaches.
