Uchenna O. Okoli is a consummate professional, with over thirteen years of public health Grants Management/Project Management experience, population health marketing, public health policy initiatives, and healthcare implementation/ transformation research. Five of those years were spent sharpening his knowledge base, and understanding best practices concepts by executing several international healthcare assessments, and research-change initiatives. Uche has a Master of Public Health Degree with concentrations in Public Policy and Epidemiology from Morgan State University. He also has a B.S. in Biology/ Pre-MED that was awarded to him by the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.      

Uche's work experiences, and rigorously developed skill set combined with his education, provides the expertise that he can bring to this mission driven, and results oriented organization. In his latest role as the Grants Management/ Project Management Coordinator for the HealthCare Dynamics International’s Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative Support and Alignment Network, he was able to fully interface and coordinate grants management deliverables with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Understanding the importance of being detail oriented, mission and deadline driven, has assisted in fine tuning his skill set. In this role he has been able to spearhead the development and execution of institutional-wide health equity, diversity-inclusion and population health strategies, advance community care delivery transformation through clinical model integration efforts in collaboration with clinical and non-clinical leaders and teams.

Uche has been able to inform his perspective by working with clinicians to address funder guidelines questions, concerns, and Statement of Work follow through, as well as investigating opportunities for Grant agency collaborations with other entities around specific population health aims and goals. As a result of his professional learnings and journey, he has been able to build strategic community partnerships across Washington, DC metropolitan area to advance health equity, and value based transformation. Uche has learned that coordinated strategic planning, re-design and change management processes with cross-functional clinical and administrative leaders is key to maximized departmental impact and increased efficiency.

Prior to this position, he was the Community Health Systems Manager at MedStar Health’s corporate office. In this position he was tasked with coordinating the workflow and best practice dissemination of the Maryland and the District of Columbia Medstar hospital network. With this management position, he gained invaluable leadership and team-building experiences which are necessary skills in confronting many of the challenges and opportunities that face public health professionals in today’s ever changing healthcare landscape.
