Shalini joined the National Institute of Neurological Disorder and Stroke (NINDS) in 2015 and currently serves as a Scientific Project Manager (Chemist) for the the NINDS Small Business and Epilepsy Therapy Screening Program. Previously, she was a Health Program Specialist for the ETSP in DTR. Shalini received an MS in chemistry from Clarkson University where her research focused on synthesizing and studying structure-reactivity relationship of the compounds utilizing NMR. In 2014, she received an MSB in Accounting from the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. She has 23 years’ experience in drug discovery and was part of the development of drugs for the treatment of cancer, anti-inflammatory and metabolic diseases. Her drug discovery efforts led to the identification of a clinical candidate for diabetes and has authored several patents for the discovery of antidiabetic and anti-gout drugs.
