Funmi is an experienced Grant Management Specialist, who joined the National Institute of Health in 2000 at the Center for Scientific Review. She comes to NINDS with over 18 years of extensive Grant Management experience from the National Cancer Institute, where she has amassed a lot of institutional knowledge in NIH policy, grants management, the Diversity Supplement Expert while also managing one of the most Complex Budget Analysis Awards on the National Clinical Trial Network. Prior to joining the Office of Grants Management, she served as the Program Assistant at the National Cancer Institute's DNA and Chromosome Aberration Branch where she assisted with checklists for grants among other duties. In 2003, Funmi was selected as one of the interns for the Administrative Career internship at NIH where she got the opportunity to rotate through several offices such as the Budget office, Grants office, and Center for Information Technology. In 2004, she decided to join the Office of Grants Management at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as a Grant Management Specialist. Funmi received a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland College Park in 2000 and a Masters in Management Information Systems in 2004.
