Gordon Fishell, Ph.D., is a Professor of Neurobiology at Harvard Medical School and the Stanley Center at the Broad Institute. Dr. Fishell earned his doctoral degree in Neurobiology from the University of Toronto in Canada. He is a Simons Investigator and has served on numerous editorial boards including the Journal of Neuroscience, Genes and Development, and Developmental Neuroscience. The focus of Dr. Fishell’s research is development, including ways in which specialized brain cells called interneurons contribute to differences across various brain regions and the genes involved in those processes.
