Parkinson’s Disease Research Planning

Overview

As the primary NIH Institute supporting research on Parkinson’s disease (PD), NINDS periodically coordinates comprehensive strategic planning efforts to help prioritize research needs and opportunities. In addition to these larger planning efforts, NINDS organizes planning and coordination meetings for major PD research programs, such as annual meetings of the Morris K. Udall Centers of Excellence for Parkinson’s Disease Research program and the Parkinson’s Disease Biomarkers Program (PDBP), regular meetings of the Accelerating Medicines Partnership for Parkinson's Disease (AMP PD), and targeted workshops to discuss emergent areas of interest in PD and related disorders.
