The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Health Scientist Administrator (commonly termed Program Director). This position is located in the NINDS Channels, Synapses and Circuits Cluster in Bethesda, MD. The Channels, Synapses, and Circuits Cluster focuses on basic and clinical studies of the epilepsies as well as research on the basic neurobiology of channels, synapses, and circuits in the CNS. Research supported by this Cluster spans a wide range of methods ranging from genetic, molecular, and cellular techniques to imaging, neurophysiological, behavioral, and epidemiological approaches.
Major Duties: As a Health Scientist Administrator of the Channels, Synapses and Circuits Cluster, you will:
Candidate Qualifications: Applicants must possess an M.D. and/or Ph.D., or equivalent degree in the biomedical sciences, with broad experience in the neurosciences, preferentially in epilepsy research. The applicant should have six or more years of successful research, research administration, and/or management experience pertinent to the position. The applicants must be U.S.A. citizens in order to apply for the position.
