Health Program Specialist, Repair and Plasticity (R&P) Cluster

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) is seeking a neuroscientist to join the Repair and Plasticity (R&P) Cluster in the Division of Neuroscience as a Health Program Specialist (HPS). R&P is a cohesive team consisting of a Program Assistant, Health Program Specialists, and Program Directors, who collectively support extramural research in a variety of topics including spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, repair of the nervous system in injury and disease, stem and progenitor cell biology, neural engineering and neurotechnology. R&P participates in the BRAIN Initiative, the Somatic Cell Genome Editing Consortium, and efforts for data sharing and harmonization, particularly in the domains of traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury. We are looking for an energetic and collaborative HPS candidate to assist in the management, coordination, evaluation and communication of research grants, fellowships, and cooperative agreements in the Cluster. In addition, the HPS will contribute to the development of scientific initiatives, portfolio analyses, and the planning of workshops and meetings.  The ideal candidate should demonstrate expertise in neuroscience, problem solving, time management, and open communication. This is a Federal GS-11, GS-12 or GS-13 position located in Montgomery County MD. Level is based upon individual qualifications and professional experience. A full benefits package is available, which includes Thrift Savings Plan participation, health, life and long-term care insurance.
