To track NIH progress in Parkinson's disease research, we have provided a list of research activities and awards for each fiscal year.
This section describes the current research initiatives, program announcements, requests for applications (RFAs) and guide notices related to Parkinson's disease research. For further information on NINDS resources including funding strategies, other funding opportunities and a description of the types of mechanisms please visit the Overview of Funding Resources page.
In order to track our progress on goals within the Parkinson's Matrix, as well as to gauge trends and activities in areas of science as described in the Parkinson's Disease Research Agenda, the "worldwide" PD portfolio is analyzed annually. By this analysis, program staff can better determine research 'gaps' where future initiatives will be needed, as well as identify trends or roadblocks in scientific progress.
This section provides an in-depth analysis of the portfolio broken down into the areas of Understanding Parkinson's Disease, Developing New Treatments for Parkinson's Disease, Creating New Research Capabilities and Enhancing the Research Process across NIH.
This section provides a breakdown of the grants funded by NINDS and their abstracts related to Parkinson's Disease organized by topics as listed in the Parkinson's agenda or PD matrix.
Profound research discoveries are often made when groups of scientists from around the world interact and collaborate. The information found on this page is a summary of International Parkinson's research activities around the world. It was provided to NINDS in response to inquiries made prior to the 2002 Parkinson's Disease Coordination Summit, organized by the NIH Director. We hope to provide information on other countries as it is made available.
