Emily Petrus is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Division of Intramural Research at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. Her research in the Laboratory of Functional and Molecular Imaging, led by Dr. Alan Koretsky, aims to characterize the specific neurons and synapses in the cortical circuit and determine if the changes observed have a functional output to mediate more widespread changes in the brain. The functional relevance of these changes in connectivity will help determine if the plasticity we observe is adaptive, maladaptive or both. She received her Ph.D. in neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University and earned a B.S. in biology from Wagner College.
