Antoine Adamantidis was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine. In the laboratory of Luis de Lecea, his research aimed to understand the role of hypothalamic circuits regulating the sleep-wake cycle. More specifically, he proposed using in vitro and in vivo optogenetics to establish a causal link between activation of melanin-concentrating hormone-expressing neurons in the hypothalamus and sleep-wake cycle architecture. He earned his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Neuroscience from the University of Liège in Belgium.
