Dr. Adam Rouse is an Assistant Professor and Director of Basic Research in the Department of Neurosurgery at University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City. He was a Postdoctoral Associate in the lab of Dr. Marc Schieber at University of Rochester Medical Center, New York. He aims to study ways to assist patients with paralysis using a brain-machine interface to perform a more diverse set of tasks. This helps to develop neuro-prosthetic devices that allow more precise and intuitive movements to the user. He earned his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering and MD from Washington University in St. Louis. He earned his BS in biomedical engineering and economics, also from Washington University in St. Louis.
