Dr. Saavedra received his undergraduate education at the University of Chile in Santiago, a Master in Biochemistry at State University of New York at Buffalo, and a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY. He did his Postdoctoral training at Caltech, Pasadena, CA. He was an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, and an Associate Professor at Medical College of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. His work has been in the area of Molecular Neurogenetics.
