Natalia Strunnikova, Ph.D.

Dr. Natalia Strunnikova received her undergraduate and master’s degrees in biology and genetics at Saint Petersburg State University in Russia and her Ph.D. in Genetics through the Graduate exchange Program between St. Petersburg State University (Russia) and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1997. Prior to joining the NINDS as a Scientific Review Officer (SRO) in January of 2012, she was a Staff Scientist in the Inter institute Gene Therapy Consortium (GTC) in the Clinical Research Center at the National Eye Institute. Dr. Strunnikova completed her Masters of Health Sciences in Clinical Research from Duke University in 2003. Dr. Strunnikova’s scientific expertise is in the areas of clinical research, degenerative diseases, HIV virology, oxidative stress, eye pathogenetics, progenitor cells, drug addiction and high throughput bioinformatics.
