Karrah Benson received her B.S. degree in Genetics and Evolutionary Biology from Syracuse University. In 2008, she served as a research assistant in the Musculoskeletal Laboratory at Syracuse University where she studied the effects of aerobic exercise training on venous compliance in hypertensive patients under the direction of Dr. Jill Kanaley and Dr. Stella Goulopoulou. In 2009, she joined a large medical practice in D.C. where she was the office manager for 3 years. In 2012 she received her certification as an Emergency Medical Technician and volunteers her services in the community. She joined the Office of Translational Research because of her interest in helping new discoveries get to patients.
