Jeff Jiang, Ph.D.

Dr. Jiang is a Scientific Program Specialist working at the Anticonvulsant Screening Program (ASP) in the Office of Translational Research (OTR) at NINDS. At ASP, he provides scientific supports to program participants in an effort to identify lead compounds for the treatment of epilepsy and develop them into drug candidates. Dr. Jiang received his Ph.D. in Bioorganic Chemistry and Biophysics from University of California at San Diego, and his B.S. in Organic Chemistry from Peking University in China. After completing his degree, he joined Molecular Simulations Inc. (currently known as Accrlys Inc.) as a Research Scientist to develop commercial software for computer-aided drug design. Later Dr. Jiang worked at U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command to apply High Performance Computing (supercomputers) in biomedical research, and made contributions to therapeutic projects for biodenfense and chemical defense before joining NINDS in 2009.
