Specialties: drug discovery and clinical development of therapeutics for neurological disorders particularly Pain and Alzheimer’s Disease, development and optimization of clinical models and methodologies, discovery and development of biomarkers.
Dr. Hao Wang is a Program Director in the Office of Translational Research who oversees the NINDS translational cooperative agreement programs and the translational R21 grant portfolio. Prior to joining NINDS, she was at Merck Research Laboratories and then Janssen R&D of Johnson &Johnson, with fourteen years of combined experience in Discovery, Early, and Late Clinical Development. Dr. Hao Wang obtained her PhD in Pharmacology from University of Washington, Seattle, WA, under the supervision of Dr. Bruce Tempel. She was then a Postdoctoral fellow under the supervision of Dr. Marc Tessier-Lavigne at University of California San Francisco and Howard Hughes Medical Institute, , where she studied cellular and molecular mechanisms of axon guidance and neuronal survival.
