NINDS Plans
NINDS has a number of planning documents that define its priorities in one or more areas related to the NINDS Mission.
- A New Strategic Vision for NINDS. NINDS recently completed a strategic planning effort to help set priorities and determine how to pursue its mission more
effectively. A draft of the new NINDS Strategic Plan is now available for comment.
- Health Disparities and Workforce Diversity Strategic Planning. NINDS has recently undertaken a new strategic planning initiative to assess the Institute’s activities and establish priorities
for health disparities research and efforts to promote diversity in the neuroscience workforce.
- "Neuroscience in the New Millennium," is the first strategic research plan for the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke and defines priorities
for the institute's research funding.
- NINDS Implementation Plan describes the actions NINDS is taking to implement the strategic research plan.

- Report of the Brain Tumor Progress Review Group results from a joint effort by NINDS and NCI to organize and prioritize a national agenda for brain tumor research. More

- The Epilepsy Research Web results from two NINDS-sponsored international conferences (March 2000 and March 2007) and describes the NINDS Research
Agenda for Epilepsy and other planning efforts.
- Stroke Progress Review Group Planning results from a collaborative effort of scientists, clinicians, industry representatives, and patient advocates who were
charged by the NINDS with the task of setting overall priorities for stroke research.
- The Research Plan For Tuberous Sclerosis. Developed under the leadership of NINDS, this document presents a broad, long-term vision for tuberous sclerosis research.
- Muscular Dystrophy Research and Education Plan for the National Institutes of Health. Developed by the Muscular Dystrophy Interagency Coordinating Committee (MDCC), this Plan provides a list of priorities and

- Research Plan for Ataxia-Telangiectasia. Developed by the trans-NIH Ataxia-Telangiectasia Working Group, this document outlines a research strategy for A-T, a rare
childhood disease that affects multiple organ systems.
