The NINDS recently convened two advisory panels to provide recommendations for ways the Institute can maximize the impact of its efforts to increase diversity in the neuroscience workforce and to reduce or eliminate neurological health disparities in under-represented populations. The final reports from the two Strategic Planning Advisory Panels can be found here:

Health Disparities (completed February, 2011)
The NINDS developed its first 5-year plan on minority health disparities in 2001, which also highlighted actions to increase diversity of the neuroscience workforce. This current effort will help the Institute to re-examine its investments in these areas and to define new priorities moving forward.
